Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Title

• Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (L&D)

• Charleston, WV

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Night shifts (3x12 hours), every other weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to women in labor, delivery, and postpartum units
• Float to Mother Baby as needed, supporting both labor and delivery services
• Collaborate with midwives and physicians to optimize the childbirth experience
• Administer medications, monitor fetal and maternal vital signs, and respond to emergencies
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner, Surginet, and Fetallink systems
• Maintain compliance with unit-specific protocols and safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license (WV or Compact)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in labor and delivery or related obstetric units
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through American Heart Association
• Circulating experience in the OR setting and IV start skills
• Ability to float to Mother Baby as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with triage, scrub procedures, and obstetric emergency response
• Knowledge of obstetric care for both low-risk and high-risk patients
• Experience with Cerner electronic documentation system

Additional Information

• Must have at least two manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1st – March 31st) unless medically exempt
• Candidates must be able to work outside a 100-mile radius or have case-by-case exception approval
• Full documentation needed by noon Monday prior to start date for timely onboarding
