Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in a busy Level I trauma center Emergency Department for both adult and pediatric patients.
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, administer emergency medications, and perform advanced emergency response procedures.
• Manage various cases including neurological injuries, orthopedic support, pediatric emergencies, psychiatric crises, and respiratory conditions.
• Perform IV therapy, blood product administration, phlebotomy, and procedural sedation.
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR system.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and maintain compliance with hospital protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience in a combined adult/pediatric ED.
• Active Illinois RN license or in the process of licensure with an estimated time of approval.
• Current certifications including ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC.
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response procedures.
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system.
• Comfortable managing pediatric and adult trauma cases, including neurological, orthopedic, and psychiatric emergencies.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with trauma nursing in a Level I trauma center.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Prior experience with hospital alert systems and cross-training within emergency or critical care units.

• No on-call required; will work every other weekend.
