Job Title

• Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (Night Shifts)

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Night shifts (3x12 hours), 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care on a 28-bed, high-acuity medical-surgical unit specializing in post-operative care.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, ensuring safe and effective care delivery.
• Document patient progress and coordinate with the healthcare team using Epic electronic health record system.
• Adhere to unit policies, including float policies and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to a team that maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in hospital initiatives, including adhering to compliance and certification standards.

Required Qualifications

• Valid state nursing license (pending licenses accepted with in-hand licensing before start date).
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• Ability to float within scope of practice within facility.
• Must adhere to UVAs float and shift policies.
• Background check compliant with facility policies.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree preferred.
• Previous experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry unit is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of patient care standards in high acuity settings.
