Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgeries in a Level II Trauma Center.
- Assist with a variety of procedures including CABG, AVR, AAA, MVR, and minimally invasive cardiac surgeries.
- Support surgical teams during procedures such as carotid cutdowns, VATS, RATS, mediastinoscopy, and more.
- Float between units and assist with cardiovascular and thoracic cases as needed.
- Maintain compliance with hospital and departmental policies, including charting in EPIC.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Washington RN license or Compact state license.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a cardiovascular surgery setting.
- BLS certification; preferred certifications include ACLS, PALS, CNOR, and TNCC.
- EPIC charting experience.
- Ability to work 3 out of 5 holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
- Willingness to float within hospital or to nearby sister hospitals.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in CVOR or cardiac surgical nursing.
- Familiarity with specialized procedures such as carotid cutdowns, mediastinoscopy, and minimally invasive cardiac techniques.
- Experience working in a Level II trauma facility.
