Registered Nurse Orthopedic

Job Title

• Registered Nurse – Orthopedic (Night Shifts)

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, 36-hour weekly, Night shifts (3x12 hours)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to orthopedic surgical patients, including those undergoing joint replacements and spinal fusions.
• Monitor patient conditions, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage rapid response teams as needed.
• Administer IV therapies, including peripheral line care, and manage respiratory support such as nasal cannula and non-invasive airway devices.
• Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and PPE protocols to maintain a safe environment.
• Assist with wound care, wound vac management, and operate unit-specific systems such as Epic and Pyxis.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate patient recovery and comfort.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina or a Compact State, in hand at start.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in orthopedic or surgical units.
• Proven skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response procedures.
• Certified BLS, with additional certifications preferred.
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Total joint replacement and orthopedic surgical care experience.
• Experience with Epic charting and wound vac management.
• Flexibility to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities as needed.
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed.
