Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team, incorporating all four phases of the nursing process.
- Administer and monitor patient care therapies and procedures, recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition in a timely manner.
- Provide patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and discharge instructions to support understanding and compliance.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of patient care activities.
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team.
- Proficiency with or ability to be trained on relevant computer systems and applications.
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous nursing experience in an oncology or related clinical setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
