Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team, incorporating all four phases of the nursing process.
• Administer and monitor patient care therapies and procedures, recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition in a timely manner.
• Provide patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and discharge instructions to support understanding and compliance.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of patient care activities.
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team.
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on relevant computer systems and applications.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous nursing experience in an oncology or related clinical setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
