Key Responsibilities
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage perineal care for postpartum patients
- Provide direct nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns within a 23-bed Mother/Baby unit–
- Educate parents on newborn care, safety, and bonding techniques
- Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary care teams across floor and nursery settings
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech / CPN electronic medical record systems
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1–2 years of current acute care hospital Postpartum / Mother Baby experience
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Proficiency with Meditech / CPN or comparable EMR systems
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a dedicated Mother/Baby unit
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and unit workflows
- Flexibility with scheduling and willingness to float between floor and nursery assignments
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong communication skills across staff and providers
