• Full-time, day shifts, 1 shift per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments following the plan of care under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Review clinical records, case histories, and collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient encounters, treatment plans, progress, and outcomes accurately in compliance with hospital policies.
• Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, activities, and the use of equipment to promote independence.
• Assist in selecting and fitting durable medical equipment and assistive devices based on individual patient needs.
• Participate in community outreach, home assessments, and provide therapy services in various settings outside the hospital, including community centers and patients’ homes.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Valid State of Alaska Physical Therapist Assistant license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clinical competency within 3 months of hire and every three years thereafter.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in acute care hospital and outpatient settings preferred.
• Knowledge of musculoskeletal physiology, range of motion, gait analysis, and adaptive device fitting.
• Proficiency with documentation, billing processes, and healthcare software applications.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain treatment procedures effectively to patients and families.
