Key Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally relevant, evidence-based outpatient behavioral health services including individual, group, family, and marital therapy, as well as bio-psychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and care coordination.
  • Develop and review individualized treatment plans based on client needs, integrating mental health and substance use disorder interventions utilizing Trauma Informed Care principles.
  • Deliver crisis intervention services during normal clinic hours and participate in a shared rotating after-hours crisis and emergency services schedule at rural clinic locations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members across the health system to support individualized treatment goals and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of all services within the electronic health record, including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, screening tools, and discharge plans in accordance with applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to patient confidentiality standards per HIPAA, consistently meet productivity expectations, and fulfill all licensure and provider enrollment requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) preferred; unlicensed candidates eligible for clinical supervision toward licensure.
  • Valid State of Alaska Driver's License, or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire.
  • Clinical Competency Assessment required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
  • Experience with behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, and the ability to provide treatment planning and referrals for patients of all ages.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Alaska State Chemical Dependency Counselor I (CDCI) or Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) certificate or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulatory frameworks including HIPAA, CARF, The Joint Commission, HRSA, and State Medicaid requirements.
  • Experience applying motivational interviewing techniques and evidence-based methods for emotional, behavioral, and mental health treatment across individual, group, and family modalities.
