Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents in a long-term care and skilled nursing facility setting
- Manage and monitor residents with common diagnoses including hypertension, diabetes, and those requiring assistance with ADLs and transfers
- Coordinate with medication aides and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe and effective resident care
- Document resident assessments, care plans, and clinical notes using the facility's electronic medical records system
- Maintain compliance with facility protocols, including weekend and holiday rotation requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa or a compact state
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility environments
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend
- Proficiency or ability to learn Point Click Care (PCC) EMR system
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working with geriatric populations requiring ADL assistance and transfers
- Familiarity with managing residents with hypertension and diabetes in a SNF setting
- Experience working in a high-census facility environment
