Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, developmental level, and risk factors.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in coordination with the patient, family, and inter-professional team.
• Initiate and carry out nursing interventions, procedures, and therapies with clinical autonomy while recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition.
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including timely execution of discharge orders and coordination with Case Management.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of patient care provided by other team members.
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to perform age-specific patient safety assessments and implement appropriate safety measures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across care team members.
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on computer systems and clinical applications.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous nursing experience in an emergency room or acute care setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
