Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments incorporating culture, age, developmental level, risk factors, and presenting complaint in accordance with RN scope of practice and department policies.
• Develop individualized care plans, determine desired outcomes in coordination with patients and families, and fully implement patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice.
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies using the nursing process.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of patient care activities performed by other team members.
• Identify and address patient and family educational needs; facilitate the discharge process including discharge teaching and coordination with case management.
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, infection prevention, and documentation auditing.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members.
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on computer systems and clinical applications.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous clinical nursing experience in an oncology or related setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
