Contract | Nights | 36 hours per week | Three 12-hour night shifts (18:45–07:15)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients including premature infants (as early as 22 weeks gestational age) and surgical infants in a Level 3 or 4 ICN setting
• Manage and monitor patients requiring specialized procedures including Therapeutic Hypothermia, Nitric Oxide therapy, UAC/UVC lines, Broviac lines, Trachs, GTT, and Ostomies
• Operate specialized equipment including Servo Vents, HFOV, BCPAP, Ram NC, Tecotherm, Baby Leo, Giraffe, and Alaris IV pumps
• Maintain accurate documentation and charting using EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication frameworks
• Adhere to a self-scheduling model based on unit needs, including a weekend requirement of 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays per 6-week period
• Float as needed to Peds, PICU, or Nursery caring for infants up to and including 12 months of age

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Level 3 or Level 4 ICN/NICU — candidates with less than 3 years of NICU experience will not be considered
• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license
• Current BLS certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Ventilator experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) and advanced neonatal respiratory support modalities
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
• Prior travel nursing experience is a plus; first-time travelers are accepted
