Contract | Nights | 36 hours per week | Three 12-hour night shifts (18:45–07:15)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients including premature infants as early as 22 weeks gestational age and surgical infants in a Level 3 or 4 ICN setting
• Manage and monitor patients requiring advanced respiratory support including mechanical ventilation, HFOV, BCPAP, and nitric oxide therapy
• Perform and assist with special procedures including therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC line management, Broviac care, tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tube care, and ostomy care
• Operate unit equipment including Tecotherm, Ram NC, Alaris IV pumps, Med Fusion feeding pumps, Servo Vents, Baby Leo, and Giraffe warmers
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC and communicate using SBAR methodology
• Float as needed to Peds, PICU, or nursery caring for infants up to and including 12 months of age

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in a Level 3 or Level 4 ICN/NICU
• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license
• Current BLS certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilators
• Ability to meet weekend requirements: 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays per 6-week period

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Pyxis medication dispensing systems and EPIC electronic health records
• Familiarity with hypoxic injury management and care of complex surgical neonates
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are accepted)
