RN OR Circulator – Day Shift

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review patient history and diagnostics and report abnormal results to the appropriate care team members.
  • Formulate, implement, and revise individualized plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, incorporating patient and family input and reflecting changing patient needs.
  • Provide direct patient care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care in compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; revise the plan of care as needed and document all assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation activities accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Promote continuity of care by effectively communicating patient status to other caregivers and participating in department shared leadership and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support the education, orientation, and professional development of facility personnel, patients, students, and families through precepting and mentoring as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or higher required.
  • Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • PALS certification required within 90 days of start date if assigned to ASC services involving pediatrics.
  • Core (FT/PT): Minimum one year of licensed RN experience in the OR; candidates without OR experience may be considered if enrolled in and successfully completing the PeriOp101 program within 4 months.
  • PRN: Minimum two years of licensed RN experience in the OR.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Additional OR or perioperative licensed RN experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in other procedural areas may be considered with appropriate clinical educator approval.
