Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Trauma unit receiving patients from the ED, OR, and ICU, including geriatric trauma, abuse/violence victims, MVA, falls, and acute care surgery cases
• Manage and interpret EKG rhythms and dysrhythmias; perform phlebotomy, IV starts, peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Care for patients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, and total joint replacements
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including wound vacs, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, traction, and external fixators
• Administer insulin and PCA; manage surgical drains and perform wound care
• Float within service line to meet facility needs as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (MO or compact; IL license must be in hand at time of submittal)
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, with Level I Trauma experience required
• Current BLS (BCLS) and ACLS certifications required by compliance deadline
• Must pass a Relias EKG exam; EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management required
• Proficiency in Med/Surg skills including isolation precautions, oral suctioning, oxygen delivery systems, and wound vac management
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC electronic health records charting system
• Background in acute care surgery including appendicitis, hernia repairs, burns, and TBI management
• Familiarity with peripheral nerve block catheters and total joint replacement post-operative care
