Key Responsibilities

• Set up the operating room prior to surgery, ensuring all required equipment and instrumentation is available and in proper working condition for each scheduled procedure.
• Assist with patient positioning, surgical prepping, and draping in preparation for surgery.
• Perform basic duties of a surgical technologist in support of the surgical team throughout procedures.
• Provide scrub technician support across multiple surgical specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, OB/GYN, Podiatry, and Urology for both adult and pediatric patients.
• Participate in rotational on-call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician training program accredited by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST), or documented on-the-job training in a clinical healthcare setting or through a military surgical specialty.
• Must obtain certification within 6 months after the applicable 3-year qualification period from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) — Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) — or current certification from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) — Tech in Surgery Certified (TS-C) with 6,240 hours.
• Current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, maintained throughout employment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience scrubbing across multiple surgical specialties including orthopedic, ophthalmologic, or obstetric procedures.
• Prior experience working in a JCAHO-accredited or similarly regulated hospital or surgical center environment.
