Job Title
• Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, 36 hours per week, Night shifts (12-hour shifts)

Key Responsibilities
• Provide care for stable pre/post cardiac patients, including those with pacemakers, ICDs, and post-catheterization.
• Monitor and titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone.
• Conduct telemetry monitoring for patients with arrhythmias, unstable angina, CHF, and stroke.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team on fast-paced unit turnover, typically managing 78-90 patients weekly.
• Respond to on-call requirements as dictated by patient census, with escalation protocols for call-offs.
• Assist with admissions and discharges, ensuring seamless patient care transitions.

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a cardiac or telemetry unit, with familiarity in ratios and acuity management.
• Current licenses and certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH.
• Demonstrated proficiency in IV starts, telemetry, and cardiac patient care.
• Experience with titrating cardiac drips and managing cardiac devices.
• Willingness to accept first-time traveler assignments and work in a busy hospital environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Previous travel nurse experience and comfort working in high-pressure units.
• Ability to float to related units as needed.
• Strong assessment and communication skills, with adaptability to rapid patient turnover.

• No RTO allowed after booking; up to 7 days RTO approved pre-shift.
• No block scheduling; self-scheduling with leadership oversight.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
• Orientation includes 36 hours of hospital training; availability every day during week one required.
• All candidates must be willing to float within the facility as needed.
• Certifications and licensure must be current and verified prior to scheduling.
