Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity nursing care to PCU and medical oncology patients, including those with solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias using GE telemetry systems
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, PCA pumps, and continuous bladder irrigation
- Administer blood products, manage heparin protocols, and operate cardiac drips
- Maintain strict infection prevention protocols and implement patient fall prevention measures
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed based on staffing priorities
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license (compact or state license required at time of submission)
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Minimum of high-acuity PCU patient care experience required
- Current BCLS, ACLS, and NIH stroke scale certifications
- Proficiency with telemetry interpretation, chest tubes, external CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management, and ABG interpretation
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 years of oncology nursing experience preferred, though not required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring, arterial line management, wound care/wound vac, and IV insulin protocols
- Skills in phlebotomy, surgical drain management, and non-invasive airway management
