Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, day shifts, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical unit patients in a Level I trauma center
• Manage PICC lines, starting IVs, and assist with trach and laryngectomy patient care (willingness to learn required)
• Float within scope to meet hospital needs, covering other units if necessary
• Ensure accurate documentation using Cerner system and follow facility protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver quality patient outcomes
• Adhere to hospital policies, including RTO restrictions and holiday staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active IL RN license in hand
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• Proven experience managing PICC lines and starting IVs
• Willing to work up to a 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio if needed
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with acute care trauma centers and Level I trauma facilities
• Familiarity with trach and laryngectomy patient care (willingness to learn)
• Ability to work flexible shifts including rotating weekends and holidays
