Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team
- Initiate and manage nursing interventions, therapies, and procedures with clinical autonomy within established policies and professional guidelines
- Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; conduct ongoing assessments and document responses to treatments
- Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with case management
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction monitoring, fall prevention, and documentation auditing
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to perform age-specific patient safety assessments and implement appropriate safety measures
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across care teams
- Proficiency with or ability to learn computer systems and clinical applications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with 4 years preferred; experience in a high-volume hospital setting required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior Emergency Department nursing experience
