Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient's condition prior to contrast media administration or radiographic procedure.
• Perform radiographic procedures as prescribed, selecting appropriate technique based on voltage, current, and exposure time.
• Position patients correctly for optimal imaging views and instruct on physiological requirements for the procedure.
• Prepare and administer contrast media intravenously or through other body cavities.
• Ensure all required consent forms are signed before procedures.
• Document exam details and relevant information in patient charts.
• Discuss procedure results with departmental supervisor when necessary.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and record outcomes.
• Operate portable radiographic equipment throughout the hospital, including critical care units.
• Manage PACS operations, ensuring accurate image transmission and interpretation readiness.
• Educate radiography students on proper procedures, physics, equipment operation, anatomy, and responsibilities of radiologic technologists.
• Transport and assist patients to and from imaging departments as needed.
• Handle departmental control desk duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) or equivalent.
• Proficiency in performing diagnostic radiographic procedures.
• Knowledge of PACS operation and image transmission protocols.
• Ability to prepare and administer contrast media.
• Strong patient positioning and communication skills.
• Compliance with hospital safety and procedural guidelines.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with portable radiography in hospital settings.
• Prior teaching or mentorship experience with radiography students.
• Familiarity with hospital electronic medical records systems.
