Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Saturday, Sunday, and Monday with holiday rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Perform sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with facility protocols
- Decontaminate instruments and devices received from the operating room and other clinical areas
- Assemble and wrap instrument sets and trays for sterilization
- Support surgical services across multiple campuses as needed, including floating to alternate locations within scope
- Participate in holiday rotation as required by departmental scheduling needs
- Contribute to emergency response operations as assigned, including during designated hurricane season periods (June through November)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of sterile processing technician experience; first-time travelers not accepted
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Hands-on experience in sterilization, decontamination, and instrument assembly/wrapping
- Active CBSPD and/or HSPA national certification required
- Ability and willingness to float to alternate campuses as operationally required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with complex surgical case types including Neuro, GU, Robotics, ENT, Orthopedics, Transplant, and GYN
- Prior experience in a teaching facility or Magnet-designated hospital environment
- Familiarity with high-volume, fast-paced surgical services departments
