Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Holiday rotation required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with facility protocols
- Decontaminate instruments and equipment following established safety and infection control standards
- Assemble and wrap instrument sets for surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Support a Level I Trauma Center environment with a high volume and variety of surgical cases
- Float within scope to meet facility needs, including potential assignment to alternate campuses
- Participate in emergency response team assignments as required during hurricane season (June–November)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of sterile processing technician experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Hands-on experience in sterilization, decontamination, and instrument assembly/wrapping
- Active CBSPD and/or HSPA national certification required
- Ability to float to sister facilities as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with specialty surgical cases including Neuro, GU, Robotics, ENT, Orthopedics, Transplant, and GYN
- Familiarity with high-acuity, teaching facility, or Magnet-designated hospital environments
