Full-time, Day shifts, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours per shift

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care in the Operating Room for various service lines, including general surgery, trauma, urology, and plastic surgery.
• Assist with bariatric, neurology, orthopedic, transplant, and emergency cases, ensuring adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
• Support patient preparation, positioning, and intraoperative monitoring during surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and compliance with hospital standards.
• Manage equipment and supplies, including electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources, ensuring readiness for procedures.
• Participate in emergency response activities, including code responses and fire safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or in application process
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an OR setting, including Level I trauma experience
• BLS certification; CNOR preferred
• Experience with laparoscopic-assisted cases, general surgery procedures (e.g., appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair), and trauma cases
• Knowledge of infection control, universal protocol, and specimen handling procedures
• Proficiency in using electrosurgical units, Hana tables, and other surgical instrumentation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cerner EMR system experience
• Experience with neuro, orthopedic, plastic, and urology surgeries
• Knowledge of organ donation procedures and trauma management
