Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (Alternating start times: 10:45 or 12:45)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care across multiple surgical service lines including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurology, Plastics, Urology, Transplant, and Trauma (CV excluded)
• Perform scrub and/or circulating duties across a 23-room OR suite at a Level I Trauma Centerilli
• Respond to emergent situations including code response, Malignant Hyperthermia, and trauma cases involving amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, and MVA patients
• Administer blood products, manage specimen handling and labeling, and ensure adherence to Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures
• Maintain compliance with infection control, radiation safety, and latex allergy protocols
• Participate in on-call rotation (approximately 1 per week) and one weekend shift per month

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room RN experience; first-time travelers not accepted
• Active Illinois RN license in hand or actively in the application process at time of submission
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Demonstrated experience across required case types: General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurology, Plastics, Urology, Transplant, Bariatrics, and Trauma
• Proficiency with required equipment including electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and Hana tables

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CNOR certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
• Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible for this role
