Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality nursing care to all patients across the lifespan, from birth to elderly, within the LPN/LVN scope of practice while respecting patient rights and dignity.
- Work in conjunction with Health Aides to ensure exam rooms are stocked and checklists are completed; may assist in ordering medical supplies.
- Screen patient calls over the phone and assist mid-level providers in the clinic during after-hours as needed.
- Apply age-specific considerations and cultural sensitivity when rendering patient care.
- Operate standard office machines and medical equipment such as dynamap, thermometer, and related clinical tools.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited LPN or LVN nursing program.
- Current, active LPN license in good standing in the State of Alaska.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to work effectively in a patient care setting.
- New graduates accepted; no prior experience required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- One year of hospital or outpatient clinical experience preferred.
- IV certification course completion preferred.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification preferred.
- Experience or familiarity working with psychiatric patients.
