Contract (13 Weeks) | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | On-Site | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide complex monitoring and treatment of adult cardiac patients in a high-acuity 8-bed CICU setting
- Care for patients received from the Cath Lab, Emergency Department, and Acute Care areas requiring specialized cardiac intervention
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Demonstrate high levels of professional competency and clinical judgment in a fast-paced cardiac environment
- Maintain a safe, secure, and patient-centered care environment
- Float to other units or facilities as needed
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid compact license (temporary licenses not accepted)
- Nursys verification required
- Minimum of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional licensure, with at least 1 year of recent CICU/CVICU specialty experience
- AHA ACLS certification
- AHA BLS certification
- AHA NIH Stroke Scale certification or Red Cross equivalent
Preferred Experience / Skills
- PALS certification (required if assigned to a pediatric unit)
- Experience with Meditech EMR
- 2 or more years of CICU/CVICU nursing experience
