Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:15 AM – 6:45 PM) | Every other weekend required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy via multiple routes including IV push, continuous infusion, and oral administration, while monitoring patient response throughout treatment
- Perform IV therapy and infusion services including accessing ports, central line care, PICC line care, blood and blood product administration, and starting IVs
- Handle and dispose of body fluids post-chemotherapy and manage cytotoxic spills in accordance with safety protocols
- Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values to the appropriate care team members
- Administer antifungals, antivirals, and coagulation factors as ordered
- Float within scope as needed to support facility staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license in hand or actively in the application process at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of Oncology RN experience
- Chemotherapy certification required
- Proficiency in chemotherapy administration and IV therapy/infusion skills as outlined in the role
- BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross (RQI cards not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in an acute care hospital setting
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records system
- Experience with central line blood draws and implanted line care
