Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating cultural, age, and developmental considerations, and develop prioritized problem lists in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Implement individualized patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice, including wound care, IV therapy, and medication administration, while recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and document patient responses to procedures and therapies using the nursing process in accordance with established policies and professional guidelines.
• Provide patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and discharge instructions to promote understanding and support healing.
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, coordinating with Case Management and other team members to ensure timely and effective transitions of care.
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including monitoring core measures such as patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in administering medications and performing medical procedures including wound care and IV therapy.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and task prioritization skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patient/family education.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Experience in a cardiac stepdown or coronary care unit setting.
