Contract | Days | 5x8 Hours | Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays in a high-volume sterile processing department
- Manage and process an average daily tray volume of approximately 700 trays across a large surgical services department
- Utilize instrument tracking software to accurately document and monitor instrument processing workflows
- Support surgical services across a large number of operating rooms within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma teaching facility
- Float within the surgical services line as needed to meet facility demands
- Adhere to strict infection control, safety, and quality standards throughout all processing activities
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of sterile processing technician experience required
- Active national certification required: CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM)
- Experience with a minimum of 80 types of surgical cases
- Proficiency with instrument tracking systems
- Candidates must reside beyond a 75-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers considered only with Level I Trauma experience and at least 2 years of experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with CensiTrac instrument tracking software strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Belimed washers and sterilizers preferred
- Experience with Epic charting system a plus
