Contract | Days, 4x10 Hours (6:15 AM – 4:45 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular operating room setting, supporting a range of complex cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and endoscopic surgical procedures
• Perform scrub and/or circulating roles for procedures including CABG, TAVR, LVAD, MAZE, valve replacements, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, VATS, thoracotomy, and Whipple procedures
• Manage on-call responsibilities, including 1–2 nights of call per week and every 4th–5th weekend as needed to meet departmental operational needs
• Float within scope to other OR units as needed to support facility staffing requirements
• Adhere to universal protocol, laser safety standards, and proper specimen handling and labeling procedures
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CVOR, General OR, or trauma/MOR experience required
• Active Illinois RN license in hand or actively in the application process at time of submission
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
• Demonstrated experience with cardiovascular skills including Aortic Aneurysm repair, CABG, ECMO, IABP, LVAD, TAVR, and Femoral Cannulation
• Demonstrated experience with vascular skills including AAA repair, Carotid Endarterectomy, EVAR, AV fistula repair, and vein stripping
• Whipple procedure experience required; Teaching Hospital and Level II Trauma experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience in a Magnet-designated or Level I Trauma acute care hospital setting
• Familiarity with thoracic procedures including VATS, thoracotomy, mediastinoscopy, and lobe resection
• Experience with endoscopic procedures including bronchoscopy, EGD, PEG tube placement, and laparoscopic-assisted cases
