Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Onsite | 36–48 Hours per Week | Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all age groups within a 54-bed, state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
- Deliver high-acuity care in a high-volume emergency department serving more than 60,000 patients annually
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 for critical and trauma patients to 1:3–4 for all other patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to meet patient care needs
- Float to other units and hospital locations as operationally required
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing under the highest level of professional licensure, including at least 2 years in a large hospital setting
- Trauma nursing experience required
- Current AHA or Red Cross ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale certification; TNCC and SECURE (on-site) certifications required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-volume Level III Trauma Center or comparable emergency department environment
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR systems
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly across multiple units or care settings
