Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Surgical Oncology)

Contract | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 19:00–07:30) | Onsite | 16-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity PCU and Medical-Surgical unit with a heavy focus on surgical oncology patients including hepatobiliary, colorectal, plastics, and breast/thyroid/melanoma diagnoses
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips in accordance with established protocols
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies including cytokine release syndrome
- Maintain strict infection prevention protocols and implement patient fall prevention measures
- Accurately document all patient care activities using EPIC electronic health records
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed based on departmental staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ONS Chemotherapy certification
- Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or surgical oncology setting
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
