Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Surgical Oncology)

Contract | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 19:00–07:30) | Onsite | 16-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity PCU and Medical-Surgical unit with a heavy focus on surgical oncology patients including hepatobiliary, colorectal, plastics, and breast/thyroid/melanoma diagnoses
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips in accordance with established protocols
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies including cytokine release syndrome
• Maintain strict infection prevention protocols and implement patient fall prevention measures
• Accurately document all patient care activities using EPIC electronic health records
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed based on departmental staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ONS Chemotherapy certification
• Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or surgical oncology setting
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
