Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Projected Start: 06/29/2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 4:1 (up to 5:1 when stretched)
- Perform neurological and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace application
- Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, lumbar drains, and IV infusions
- Assist with feeding tube placement and blood transfusions
- Operate unit equipment including IV pumps, Skylift, patient lifts, and Trachs
- Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR; float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a PCU, stepdown, or similar acute care setting
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (required; candidates without will not be considered)
- Demonstrated experience in neuro and trauma care
- Ability to work every other weekend per unit requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong background in neuro and trauma care procedures within a progressive care environment
- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Team-oriented, patient-focused approach to care delivery
