Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving all delivery types across 31 rooms and 4 operating rooms
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
- Circulate in the operating room as required for cesarean and other surgical deliveries
- Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Perform electronic fetal monitoring and document care using EPIC
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities offering Mother/Baby services, as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, high-paced environment; high-risk L&D experience required
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required at time of submission
- Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR
- Demonstrated competency in newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K administration, and newborn assessments
- Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
- Experience caring for midwifery clients, high-risk OB patients, and patients in substance recovery programs
