Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Palliative Care)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a palliative care unit focused on symptom management for patients with serious illness, including uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue.
• Support patients and families in achieving improved quality of life through evidence-based palliative interventions while patients remain under active treatment.
• Float to other med/surg units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed based on departmental staffing priorities.
• Accurately document patient assessments, care plans, and interventions using the EPIC electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate and deliver high-acuity medical-surgical nursing care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license) required at time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
• Ability and willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Background or interest in palliative care nursing and high-acuity med/surg environments.
