Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care for general IMC patients presenting with a wide variety of conditions including neurological, respiratory, cardiac, and gastrointestinal diagnoses.
- Utilize the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocols, including management of up to three simultaneous drips and BiPAP support; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assess patient and family learning needs and provide education; identify issues and connect patients and caregivers with appropriate resources.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in telemetry, IMC, or a related nursing specialty.
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or a valid Compact RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association only.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – American Heart Association only.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is highly preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Familiarity with managing patients requiring BiPAP and multi-drip titration in an IMC setting.
