Contract (13 or 18 weeks) | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to medical and radiation oncology patients, including hematology and sickle cell populations, in a 35-bed mixed-acuity unit serving both Med Surg and Advanced Care patients
- Administer blood products, chemotherapy (with ONS Certification), drips, and PCAs, and manage wound care and other complex nursing skills
- Monitor and interpret EKG/telemetry strips and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias
- Float to all Stepdown and Advanced Care units as assigned, including high-risk respiratory units, maintaining a medically appropriate assignment or supporting the nursing care team
- Work every other weekend and every other holiday as required
- Document all patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (any active state license or compact license accepted; no past license disciplinary actions)
- Minimum 1.5 years of Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience with demonstrated 1:5 patient ratio experience — ICU experience does not substitute for SD/PCU experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications with ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Must pass an online EKG/dysrhythmia competency assessment within 72 hours of contract signing
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
- Ability to float within the hospital system, including to campuses within approximately 15 miles of the main campus, with no floating restrictions
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Oncology experience strongly preferred; sickle cell experience and chemotherapy certification (ONS) are a plus
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 facility preferred
