Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Day Shift 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed inpatient overflow unit serving a mixed level of care including medical-surgical and step-down patients
• Manage care for short-stay patients with a length of stay under 24 hours, accommodating quick patient turnover
• Monitor patients via hardwired bedside telemetry monitors and respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with charge nurses, fellow RNs, and CNAs across day and night shifts to maintain safe staffing ratios of 1:5, with stretch to 1:6 dependent on level of care
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Float to other units as needed based on census and staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Demonstrated telemetry competency
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or step-down experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Ability to work every other weekend as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Recent progressive care experience (within the past 1–2 years)
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Positive, patient-experience-focused attitude with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
