Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech)

Key Responsibilities
- Perform a broad range of interventional radiology and special procedures including angiography, embolization, biopsies, drain placements, stent placements, and vascular access procedures
- Operate GE Innova IGS imaging equipment; set up, prep access sites, and maintain sterile field as scrub technologist and room circulator
- Manage and stock supplies, utilize PACS and EPIC EMR systems, and maintain accurate procedural documentation
- Provide on-call coverage on a rotating basis, including approximately two weekday nights per week and every fifth weekend
- Float between departments, units, and facilities as needed, including assisting in general radiology/X-ray when IR volume is low
- Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE protocols, sterile technique, and rapid response/code team procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of Interventional Radiology experience (first-time travelers accepted)
- Active ARRT (R) certification required
- Active Kansas Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) license required at time of submission; Missouri license or compact licensure also required due to floating requirements
- Current BLS certification required
- Proficiency with PACS, EPIC EMR, and GE Innova IGS equipment
- Competency in a comprehensive range of IR procedures including but not limited to: IVC filter placement/removal, nephrostomy, vertebroplasty, PICC/central venous access, uterine arterial embolization, and radiofrequency ablation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience floating across multiple departments or facility locations within a health system
- Familiarity with general diagnostic radiology/X-ray procedures to support cross-departmental coverage
- Experience with port access, central venous line care and maintenance, and PICC line management
