Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Every Third Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit with a 1:3 patient ratio, including couplet care and newborn assessment
- Administer medications including anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, heparin, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and oxytocin
- Manage IV therapy including administration of blood and blood products, CVC/PICC line care, and peripheral IV insertion and maintenance
- Perform and support pain management interventions including epidural monitoring, PCA IV use, and opioid administration with ongoing pain assessment
- Provide patient and family education including car seat safety, cord care, circumcision care, breastfeeding support, and discharge teaching
- Adhere to baby-friendly protocols, isolation precautions, incision care standards, and neonatal abstinence syndrome management
Required Qualifications
- Active Missouri RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required; Level 2 experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required – first-time travelers will not be considered
- Proficiency in Cerner EMR required – no exceptions
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (copies required at submission)
- Ability to float to other competent units within the facility as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred; CPI certification will be required beginning January 2026
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with phototherapy, thermoregulation, large for gestational age and low birth weight infant care, and breastfeeding pump education
