Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit, floating across multiple med-surg floors as scheduled
• Care for ED Hold patients within the Emergency department as part of the float resource pool assignment
• Perform unit-specific procedures including IV insertion and management, bladder scans, blood draws from central lines, and glucose monitoring
• Maintain telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes across an adult patient population (ages 25–99)
• Collaborate with CNA/PCT staff, unit clerks, and respiratory therapy to deliver safe, coordinated patient care
• Adhere to scheduling requirements including holiday coverage for two of three designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day/Eve

Required Qualifications

• Active New York RN license or documented proof of application with applied date at time of submission (NY licensing may take 6–8 weeks)
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, including 1 year in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry specialty
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years — required and non-negotiable
• NIHSS certification required prior to start date
• Reliable personal or rental transportation — public transportation is not accessible in this area; all-season or snow tires required November through April

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) certification preferred
• Experience with MAK medication administration system
• Familiarity with oncology, orthopedic, urology, or ALC patient populations
