Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Days | 06:45–19:15 | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Care for a surgical patient population including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedic, urology, and vascular cases
• Perform IV starts and continuous telemetry monitoring
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Utilize Pyxis medication dispensing system and communicate using SBAR methodology
• Float to other units occasionally as needed based on unit demands

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Current BLS certification
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Ability to work every other weekend and up to 2 of 3 major holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Background in surgical or acute care nursing specialties such as orthopedics, urology, or vascular
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers will be considered)
