Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Surgical Cardiac Telemetry unit for patients including myocardial infarction, primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement
• Perform telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Manage groin and radial band access sites; provide post-operative open heart care (24–28 hours post-op)
• Administer blood and blood products; perform or assist with cardioversion, defibrillation, and epicardial pacer management
• Provide care including breathing treatments, chest tube setup and management, CPAP/BiPAP, and trach care
• Support specialized structural heart patients including VAD and TAVR as applicable; float to like units as required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 2–3 years of telemetry experience required
• Surgical telemetry experience including open heart surgery and vascular surgery required
• Proficiency in groin and radial band management and IV skills required
• Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience is a hard-stop requirement
• Valid compact RN license in hand at time of submission; first-time travelers will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) management
• Experience with TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) patients
• Familiarity with NIHSS stroke assessment in a cardiac context
