Contract | Evening Shift (5x8 Hours, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination of surgical instruments using chemical agents and disinfectants in a high-acuity, fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Operate washers and sterilizers and execute sterilization wrapping procedures
• Assemble and manage sets and trays across multiple surgical service lines including orthopedics, neurology, cardiovascular, laparoscopic, robotics, urology, plastics, dental, and ear/nose/throat
• Support an average daily tray volume of approximately 250
• Float between departments, units, and facilities as needed to meet operational demands
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for up to 5 hours

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Active BLS certification required
• Active CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA certification required
• Proficiency with chemical decontamination agents, disinfectants, washers/sterilizers, sterilization wrapping, and tray assembly
• Pending license accepted at time of submission
• Must have both Kansas and Missouri licensure or a compact license in hand at time of submission due to floating requirements
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in orthopedic, neurological, and cardiovascular surgical service lines
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Background working in a Magnet-recognized or teaching hospital environment
