Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized plans of care based on patient needs, responses, and clinical circumstances.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders and policy; recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions or escalation of care.
• Exercise independent nursing judgment in determining appropriate nursing actions, interventions, and priorities, including when to consult, collaborate, or escalate to a licensed independent provider.
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, follow-up care, and continuity of services; advocate for patients navigating the healthcare system.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities; support orientation, mentoring, and education of staff, students, and peers.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required at time of hire.
• Clinical Competency Assessment required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
• High-Risk Competency validation required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter.
• Experienced nurses entering a new specialty must obtain all required specialty-specific and advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, as applicable) within six (6) months of hire; experienced nurses hired directly into a specialty must provide evidence of current required certifications at time of hire.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Case Management certification preferred.
• Experience with care coordination, referral facilitation, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical systems.
• Strong clinical judgment, organization, prioritization, and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
