MT or MLT (Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician)

Lincoln, ME | Critical Access Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13-Week Assignment) | Nights | 3 x 12-Hour Shifts | Rotating Weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing across multiple disciplines including Blood Bank testing, microbiology, gram stains, planting cultures, and blood cultures
• Conduct phlebotomy procedures proficiently as part of routine duties
• Fill a designated Thursday night shift with the opportunity to pick up additional vacancies as available
• Work holidays on a rotating basis as needed
• Adhere to current infection control protocols including proper PPE use and isolation room procedures
• Work independently, multitask effectively, and communicate proficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved MT or MLT program
• Proficiency in phlebotomy required
• Blood Bank testing competency required
• Proficiency in gram stains, planting cultures, and blood cultures required
• Ability to work independently and prioritize in a solo work environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Microbiology experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with current COVID-related regulations, PPE protocols, and isolation procedures
• Prior experience in a critical access or rural hospital setting
