Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to an elder population in a long-term care geriatric psychiatry setting, including patients with dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia
• Manage skilled nursing charting and documentation, with the majority of skilled and clinical charting completed during the day shift
• Work collaboratively with a medication aide (present 6am–10am) and function as the sole nurse on shift from 10am–6am
• Participate in a behavioral health program supporting residents with psychiatric diagnoses alongside standard LTC residents
• Complete location-specific orientation including a facility tour, competency validation, and the opportunity to shadow 1–2 shifts
• Adhere to holiday coverage expectations based on block schedule during the contract period

Required Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) license valid in South Dakota or a compact state
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a block schedule, Sunday through Saturday work week
• Proficiency or ability to learn PointClickCare (PCC) EMR system
• Must reside at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in geriatric psychiatry (geri psych) or long-term care psychiatry settings strongly preferred
• Familiarity with dementia care and behavioral health programs within a LTC environment
• Experience with skilled nursing documentation and compliance charting
