Surgical Technologist – General/Vascular OR

Contract | Days | Expected 40 hours/week (four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts; start and end times are negotiable)

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in a high-acuity OR environment covering general, vascular, orthopedic, neurological, and related surgical specialties
• Demonstrate a broad, current level of surgical technologist experience across multiple service lines
• Participate in an on-call rotation of approximately 1–2 call shifts per week (split between Call 1 and Call 2), with approximately every 5th weekend designated as a call weekend; call volume may increase based on departmental need
• Maintain a 30-minute on-site response time from the moment of call
• Participate in holiday call rotation as required, based on patient census and staffing levels
• Apply excellent critical thinking skills and working knowledge of central processing and surgical instrumentation

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
• Current BLS certification required
• Broad, current hands-on experience across multiple surgical specialties including orthopedic, neurological, and vascular procedures
• Strong knowledge of central processing and surgical instrumentation
• Excellent critical thinking and clinical judgment skills
• Minimal requested time off preferred for priority consideration

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred but not required
• Experience managing on-call responsibilities in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical instrumentation and sterile processing protocols
